YMCA Adventure Guides fosters companionship and understanding between parent and child, enhances the quality of family time and emphasizes the vital role that parents play in their children's growth and development. Adventure Guides has been offered through the Mt. Diablo Region YMCA for over 40 years and is currently the longest running Y program.
Adventure Guides is for parents or other significant adults and their children in preschool through eighth grade. The adult and child attend all of the program activities together in father/daughter, father/son and mother/son, mother/daughter pairs. The groups meet once a month at a member's home for activities planned by the group and then come together as a community for official events planned by the Mt. Diablo Region YMCA. Interested members can either form their own group with friends, neighbors or schoolmates or may call the YMCA to be placed in a group.
